- PoE splitters are used whenever a surveillance camera, access point or other device is to be powered only via the data line, but the device is not PoE capable.
- While only the Ethernet signal is present on the RJ45 socket, the PoE signal can be output in levels of 5, 9 or 12 volts via a separate socket.
- The current will change depending on the selected level as follows 2 amps at 5 volts 2 amps at 9 volts 2 amps at 12 volts.
- The PoE splitter complies with Gigabit Ethernet standard with up to 1 Gbps and can be used with Windows, Mac OS, Linux and Sun regardless of operating system.
