  • BASEC Approved 6242Y (6242YH) twin and earth cable made to BS 6004 — two solid plain-copper 2.5mm2 cores (brown / blue), 1.5mm2 bare copper earth (fit green/yellow sleeving), grey PVC sheath, 300/500V.
  • A commonly used UK size for domestic socket ring-final and radial circuits. Circuit design, protective device selection and installation must comply with BS 7671 and be completed by a competent person.
  • Rated up to 27A clipped direct (BS 7671 reference method C). Actual capacity depends on installation method, grouping, insulation and run length — always check before sizing a circuit.
