- How is SOFTFIX processed? Softfix is ironed on dry - here's how it works: 1. On one side the insert has an adhesive coating, this side shines a little. This is the "adhesive side". Position the adhesive side of the insert on the fabric backing. 2. Choose a high temperature (three points) on the iron and let it glide slowly and with pressure over the fabric. Note: SOFTFIX should really be ironed on with a lot of pressure so that it lasts permanently. Best results are provided by applying with a heat press. 3. Let the parts cool flat for about 20 minutes so that the adhesive can fully unfold.
