- Information: Radicchio lettuce seeds produce compact heads with rounded leaves that develop deep red colouring and prominent white veins as they mature, forming a distinctive chicory-type salad crop.
- Radicchio has a bold, slightly bitter flavour and firm texture, making it well suited to salads, grilling and cooked dishes where stronger flavours are welcome.
- Best grown in beds, raised planters and containers, this variety develops best under cooler conditions and typically reaches maturity in around 75 to 85 days.
- Variety: Radicchio (Chicory) Lettuce.
- Germination & Care: Germination temperature is between 10°C and 20°C (germination period: 7 and 14 days). Sow into fine, well-prepared soil or compost, keep lightly moist and avoid strong midday heat where possible. Thin or space plants to allow good airflow and full heart development.
